Liru here still down in Central (now south) America. I went through the Panama Canal yesterday and I thought I share this picture I took of Herman the German.

Primarily used by the Kriegsmarine to assist with the construction of large surface ships, he also helped tend Uboats as a mobile dry dock. He was a war prize for the US and spent the end of the war until 1996 in Long Beach Shipyard but eventually was purchased by the Panama Canal Corporation and is now in Gamboa which is where I passed yesterday. Herman helped us reactivate the Iowas in the 80s among other large projects and is still one of the largest floating cranes.

Just thought some if you would want to read up more on its interesting history on the web and including ghosts. Cya!

Oh! Also yes, I did feel that 8.0 earthquake in Panama yesterday while I was on the water. It was strange and a neo-panamax cargo ship caught on fire on one of the exit locks yesterday. Can post pics if you want.

Scratched my glasses today deep enough i can just catch it with my finger nail, tried looking up what can i do about it or if they sell something for it like windshield cracks and just a bunch of AI narrated videos of Vaseline and toothpaste/baking soda made by indians for small scratches not what i have.

They condense deep and important topics into 1-3 minute videos and their retarted "deep thinker" audience will eat it up like candy. Also, I swear most of what they are saying is probably just stuff they've seen on reddit or that they generated on ChatGPT. I can't prove it but it definitely seems that way to me. Back then we used to have actually smart people who called themselves philosophers, now it's just midwit teenagers on tiktok.

Here's to the greatest country our human civilization has ever seen. Is it perfect? No, but there has never been such a nation that in just a short 250 years that created more prosperity and technology that lifted up the rest of the world and affords us the great state of living we enjoy today. Fundamentally changing the entire world really. Do I wander? Sure, but I'd never give up my citizenship and there is no other country I'd rather come home to. Consider re-reading the declaration of independence and the grievances they had and try to better understand why this was such a revolutionary, modern and forward thinking document.

Most of all, remember those who have kept or who are keeping this great experiment alive. Also eat as much brisket, ribs, and BBQ chicken as you can! 🍖
