Dear John,

Sad news, the video is no longer with us.
I'm slightly sad as they didn't get to the number 1.
Oh well, I will think of all they taught me,sometime many years from now.

Regards John

Dear John, maybe it matters not you, but it saddens me that adults are very big on individuality, are resentful of extending it towards children. I notice that almost all parenting articles are black-and-white when it comes to dealing with kids. The very notion of giving kids breathing room makes people indignant.
People love to talk about how they want to teach kids to be a part of life, yet most of their "teachings" are nothing more than master-pet relations.

I notice that adults are very reactive to kids making mistakes or being casual/worldly, yet theyre ignorant/indifferent to bullying.

Adults seem to resent seeing kids in large groups, yet theyre irritated seeing them lonesome anywhere.
Kids whom are exiberant and curious are "disrespectful/annoying" yet kids whom are quiet and unresponsive are seen as "soulless".

It really makes you think does it? I thought adults were supposed.to be mature and humane.
But, mutual respect and reasonable persoanl free time is for adults only, huh?

IMO there's nothing wrong with that unless it's done in excess. Abstaining from fun things completely is a waste of a life. What matters is that they don't do it frequently enough that it becomes damaging.

My supermarket has had this cheese on sale for over a month now and I buy some every time I go. I love a strong, funky as hell blue cheese. Do you like blue cheese?

I sneaked blue cheese into the mac and cheese at Thanksgiving a few years ago. No one said word, even though at least two people at the dinner swear they can taste blue cheese in anything because they hate it so much.

I love blue cheese. Blue cheese sauce in particular goes well with pretty much anything, especially on french fries.

I saw a silica gel packet on the ground today. I realised that their appearance has not changed in any way since I first saw them as a kid in the 90s. The same exact wording, same font, same nonsensical quotation marks around "DO NOT EAT". It made me wonder, has the same factory been producing them non-stop for at least the last 30 years? Can you think of any other products that have retained their original designs over a significant number of years?

>Electric toothbrushes still literally the same as during the 90s.
Manual toothbrushes have changed, though. In the 90s they had hard, flat handles. Now they all have "ergonomic" curved, soft-grip handles. It's difficult to even find photos of the old style.

Hammering on a loose cast iron gate makes a cymbal-like ringing sound which some may find pleasant to the ear.

Others however, may not.

...

But that doesn’t change the fact that it does.

I know just what you mean, John. I have recently acquired a cast iron skillet pan, and it too, makes a pleasant ringing sound when it comes into contact with my tongs, while I'm flipping my grillings.

Well, at least it is pleasant to me.

Happy Valentine's Day, John. For the first time in quite some time, this time of year means more to me than just another tick on the calendar, and uninteresting as it is I figured I'd write to you about it.

I planned a date for last night. We were going to go to a fancy ramen restaurant, but chickened out at the sight of the large crowd and opted for a cheap chinese place further down the street. We spent a few extra hours in my apartment, lounging on my bed and reading a book. The night concluded with me walking her back home, and doing something entirely outside of my comfort zone--against all odds, I kissed her goodnight.

I'm a very slow-moving man romantically, and believe it or not this simple evening was a huge milestone for me. I've never broken that kissing barrier myself before, in the past I've been much more likely to be kissed than to kiss first. The future here is completely unknown, and it's a situation that enthuses me as much as it concerns me.

I'm going to buy some good quality Red leicester, next time

hey john
do you think it is possible to live your life alone, working, taking drugs, browsing web while still getting by and being relatively happy with yourself
are people having high expectations hurting you, who just wants simple pleasures from life, john?

Well, most people who have no serious direct problems are normal and boring and have enough assets to live a bit above their station seem to feel entitled to whine/bitch/moan about being lonely and bored.
And guess what? They get sympathy.

Meanwhile, actual down-on-their-luck folks who vent their problems are shunned as whiny.

NO it does not

Some people get to have that kind of life, cool
Some people put themselves (and others) through hell to get something like that, then bitch about people who don't "try" Not cool

These days I know I'm not that clever, yet now I'm a lot older the people who I thought were clever are not really
A lot of people I meet IRL interlect snobs, always show themselves up

I just nod, let live their best smug life
I see little point in pointing out anything to them
It's a waste of my time, because they are cleverer than and they know it
All most all of these smug people, won't help someone like me if they could
So Simple pleasures that make you happy with out have to rape your own soul to fit in
