They came out alright, I suppose.

Lately I have been making my potato peel hash browns by frying them instead of baking (faster, less risk of forgetting them), and applied the same method to the carrot peels.

A crow would be too big but robins are fine. Along those lines.

That picture is of a bird perched atop a bird deterrent, which could be construed as interesting, but the quality is low so it becomes uninteresting.

The birds are called waxwings because of waxy red astaxanthin secretions at their wingtips. Fun fact: when cowbirds leave eggs in waxwing nests, the babies end up dying because waxwing diets aren't good enough to sustain them.

>but happiness seems to require some sort of meaning/purpose on top of thay, combined with positive social relationships

NO it does not

Some people get to have that kind of life, cool
Some people put themselves (and others) through hell to get something like that, then bitch about people who don't "try" Not cool

These days I know I'm not that clever, yet now I'm a lot older the people who I thought were clever are not really
A lot of people I meet IRL interlect snobs, always show themselves up

I just nod, let live their best smug life
I see little point in pointing out anything to them
It's a waste of my time, because they are cleverer than and they know it
All most all of these smug people, won't help someone like me if they could
So Simple pleasures that make you happy with out have to rape your own soul to fit in

You need to find a good local cheese shop
There you should be able get a free taste of a cheese you have not tried before
This will help you on the joyful road of cheese
Crackers and Port or red wine
Should be looked into as to enjoy the cheeses further

All the best

John

Dear John, do any of you take pleasure in going to nature parks?
And I don't mean cute little parks but actual half-thousand acres of undeveloped woodland with trails and ponds and rivers and shit?

Imo those are what the main tourist attraction should be for any place.

I feel you can get a lot more impression of a place from seeing the nature.

>>
John Smith 25/06/15(Sun)04:40 No. 49206

Hi John,
I like nature, but what exactly am I supposed to be impressed about regarding it? I don't know what makes some nature or parks impressive or not impressive. I don't do photosynthesis, so it's all very foreign to me.
I recall a hike I took on a business trip when I was in New Zealand a few years ago, and my coworkers were talking about the view. It was just some water which I assume was an ocean or something, and there was some foliage on the outskirts of it. I don't really know how to describe it any better than that. I had to feign interest at the view they were in awe of.

it'll stop alright. It won't be sad anymore. Nor will it be boring.

The worst thing about it might be a slight or overwhelming sense of trepidation. But that's indeed quite exciting. Can't really call it a bad thing. Or worse than sadness or what was before. If anything - it's a freshness. An innocence.

I hope you discover this before dying OP. It's not bad. There may be an overwhelming sense of having no power, but at the same time a sense of having humongous power.

Dear John,
Do you feel that most complaints about adulthood are just due to people not wanting to work hard for their own pleasures?

I'm not downplaying the difficulty of life, but, I notice that the people who complain the most about adulthood often are those whom have it all.
They aren't deep in debt.
They have a decent partner, decent house, decent job and everything.
They may have problems but those are caused by their own whims and are within management.

Meanwhile, kids and teens whom are awkward and have no freedom nor outlets are told that theyre in the easy mode stage of life.
Despite not being allowed to date, not being appreciated as fellow human beings, not allowed to fend off bullies, not allowed to spice up their wardrobe due to overbearing parents etc.

Even though my adult life is a flop, I feel that's more due to my awkwardness carrying over from childhood

In fact, I can say that most post pubescent flops are often those whom were never trained or rescued from mediocrity in their youth.

Adults can make shit happen for themselves and yet they choose to throw it all away for some nostalgic deception of "childhood simplicity".

Any one who complains about "adulting" is usually of the "Millennial mentality"

Wrong. It's not generational. And besides there's far more arguing about trannies and furries and whatnot. And yet there's no one telling those people to shut up
