Hello John,
I have been brought back to this place by the memory of a certain long forgotten song of the old web past, and figured I may as well check in on my thread.
I completely understand what you mean, but I fear that the unfortunate truth is that for some of us, age simply takes away our ability to do those things. Work will have your every hour, or unemployment your free resources. I have never been rich, but these days I feel as though I can do less with my income than could way back when I was a humble university student. It certainly doesn't help when life placed you out of populated regions.
I think what myself and perhaps some others are experiencing now is akin to what we experienced way back in our youth, when sites such as this made small havens for those less socially fortunate. It is just a shame that these days there is simply less stuff to do that we haven't already done to death.

Hello to you too, John,
For me it feels both like an eternity and yesterday. The unhappy times are long ago enough to make me feel cold, but close enough to be vividly present when I close my eyes. I shut my eyes one moment and the niggertits song plays in 2008. I shut my eyes again and I am flicking through the niggertits flash page and listening to each of the little songs play on the walking character. Each one is as vivid in emotion to me at present as it is in picture, which itself makes for a rather grey feeling. The lobby room of life is well travelled it seems.
