I figure fuel like kerosene (commonly used for aviation, for some reason idk lel) or gasoline, electric batteries are not there yet, but they might be relatively soon, there are models that take the battery challenge, they have very small range due to this, again this might change in the near future

sure, textbook definition of vtol, right? they're fairly slow for horizontal flight though, which some vtols "solve" not without introducing further challenges, like moving rotors a),b) or non orthodox take off and landing c) (first pic related).

in my opinion, that would be a nice to have, but complicates everything further and is not all that useful given that a vtol can take off from your backyard (yes implying you're rich, we're at that stage where they are the target) and fly to your office's rooftop and land there
