For certain boards such as NSFW or certain SFW ones it would help organizing stuff that should be contained in general threads. Since otherwise I worry it'll just do what it did to failchan: sterilize every board with general thread #7777. I dunno if separating them into general boards would work or having some general tag system within a board would work best.
I miss when 'generals' were just called 'threads'.
>>11637 That is what I wish we could avoid causing threads to become, it spread like a cancer eating up everything, /jp/ turned into 99% general slop.
>>11636 there's already a rule against spam. there's been very few problems with people creating new threads where ones on-topic existed. can you show me an example on 7chan of where this is an issue?
>>11636 Generals killed the discussion culture of NIGGERTITS
>>11639 /s/ and & /elit/ for starters is a complete shitshow, with people just posting relevant but random crap. esp /elit/, just story dump after story dump, not written by some clever fella but just... slop. That imo. should be contained in a general thread. Same with /s/, an amateur thread or boomer general thread. And I see that /vg/ has formed into this 50/50 of /v/ & /vg/ split that there was on failchan.
>>11641 "can you show me an example" (lists boards) okay now try to *not* be retarded, and name specific threads. i didn't regularly visit 4chan.
>>11643 Fair enough. On /s/: >>>/s/202902 >>>/s/202863 >>>/s/202870 and more, could be in an amateur general thread for instance. >>>/elit/24459 >>>/elit/26149 >>>/elit/28045 Authors posting their stuff is fine, but that's pretty much all there is and I think this could be made into a general (WIP, writer general thread, etc.) instead. Since in contrast with lit, the majority of the conversation is discussion about literature topics: >>>/lit/18732 >>>/lit/17455 If you want vg threads: >>>/vg/147450 >>>/vg/147707
