Evola has some interesting thoughts. He, among other things, thinks Machiavelli is the worst type of leader. Machiavellianism is when you scorn democracy but slowly transform yourself into a deceitful, backstabbing political abomination for the sake of attaining power and wanting to impose your will on others. You have zero convictions and only do it because you desire control.
Machiavelli is the Italian equivalent of Nietzsche and the concept of the Übermensch is what happens when human desire is running wild and without any foundational principles rooted in external forces.
