Let me explain it to you like an autist to autist:
Based comes from the word base which is also meant as an idea which something stands or is built upon, a foundation if you will. So what people are saying when they say someone is based is that they are full of foundation, or that you have a strong foundation. Now why is that of any relevance you may ask, well the simple fact is that life is a little crazy, can make one confused, disoriented or even down sometimes, now when a mother fucker is based, things like that don't really matter much to him, so what happens is that he's basically like a KING.
It's the same idea as spiderman not giving any fucks. One could even say that spiderman is based. Marcus Aurelius although an emperor which some would argue detracts from his status as based, was actually a very based motherfucker as evidenced by his stoic philosophy which comes down to "we only ever have this present moment", which basically makes him peaceful as he realizes that that's the only domain he'll ever live in or have any influence on, so we can only do our best and needn't have any worry about the future.
He also says: "Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.", "The mind is everything; what you think, you become."
Most importantly perhaps "Choose not to be harmed, and you won't feel harmed. Don't feel harmed, and you haven't been."
In other words - it's all within your hands, you have the ultimate and final power in your life.
