Tell me, what prompted you to play them? Mainly their genre or the innovation they could offer their genres?

Ps. I ask this question because lately I wonder what is the component that makes an indie beautiful. Innovation in gameplay? The graphics? Or just the story?

Can it be a good game for just 1 of these components? Ex, it can be good a game whose graphics and gameplay are shitty, but is the story as good as an MGS?

I've always been interested in the process of game development, I like all sorts of processes but videogames are special, they are a vessel for all other arts.
Corporate made videogames feel sterile, often engineered to handhold you instead of challenging yo, some are insultingly intrusive. Indie games are experimental, unsupervised, some at least.

Haven't read much since a short spurt in the 00s but I realize I don't really like sex scenes in general in VNs, unless the overall tone is raunchy or unserious to begin with. If I start reading them again, I might consider the censored option for the first time (if it exists), but it's hard to knowingly remove content from myself. Maybe I just have hangups.

I finally make a Zero Mission thread that doesn't get slid and 4chan gets compromised. God hates me. Anyway I'm working on my 100% hard mode file and just got the gravity suit. It's probably in my top 5 favorite games now and mogs indie "metroidvanias"

Refuge During the Storm at Headquarters Edition

Reverse: 1999 is a turn-based RPG featuring a predominantly female cast and gameplay revolving around the use of spell cards.
The game focuses on storytelling, with a rich main story mode and frequent side-story events. Main story content is fully voiced in 4 languages, with English as the primary one. There are no PvP elements, you can play at your own pace.

This was the "real" Fallout 3 in a way or at least the closest anyone is going to get to it.
The only way for Fallout to have continued from Fallout 2 was to make it even MORE bigger than Fallout 2 was compared to Fallout 1.
Instead they decided to just continue the story, add squad mechanics, add the option to move between real-time and turn based combat, and some other neat things.
I'm aware of the Fallout 3 "Van Bueren" thing but we're talking about finished games.

In terms of story, I'd like to emphasize by the way that Fallout Tactics actually did ADVANCE things because the Brotherhood of Steel finally had working vehicles and even aircraft working like those blimps. And unlike with the Enclave's vertibirds these things were not made with the resources of pre-war stockpiles but they give the impression that they're all truly new creations and more sustainable or something. There is genuinely a future to look forward to. In later Fallout games like Fallout 3 and onwards there's nothing to really look forward to. Fallout New Vegas had that one NCR soldier say that the NCR didn't even know how to make toilets. 200 years later and they don't know how to make toilets? Fucking retarded. That's part of why I consider Vegas as "semi-canon" at best or more like fan-fiction made with effort but lacking research. Like they made the Brotherhood of Steel and NCR go to war with each other despite being allies with no reason to kill each other for more than 150 years and both having the connection of the protagonist so they can say "Yeah we both knew these heroes and he helped both of us out. We should continue their efforts and work together in their memory".
