Apply them to anything: Science, sex, your mom's cooking. No topic is too sacred or profane.
Consider this your haven where being a self-righteous, over-analytical asshole is encouraged.

What isn't allowed:

1. /b/, /x/, or /rnb/. Go spew your unhinged rants elsewhere.
2. Brainless drivel. If you can’t string two coherent thoughts together, take it to Twitter X.
3. Claims without arguments. "Because I say so" or "because you're gay" doesn’t count as reasoning. Repeatedly trolling and bait replies without substance will be banned.

Global rules apply. No, you can’t argue your way out of a ban for being an idiot. Add to the conversation, don't detract from it.

Competitiveness Anonymous 25/11/12(Wed)19:07 No. 16965

Thomas Malthus's theory posits that competitiveness is an inevitable outcome of the struggle for existence. Why some of us seem to be lacking it? Why some people are just too lazy or too depressed to compete for anything? Sometimes we just want to survive on the bare minimal resources, avoiding effort at all costs.

Compete in what?
People suck. I'd compete if they didn't, but only for fun and games, not to actually destroy or diminish anyone, just to have fun together. Which requires trust and good faith..
I can't really compete with the forest or the sky, I just appreciate them. I don't even know why I would want to, they are cool things that I find beautiful, if I could in any way I'd rather contribute to them, but for the most part that is above my pay grade, I can only observe them from afar and admire.

And I guess it's self-evident from the post, but I'm not a believer in game theory or traditional idea of evolution. I mean I see the logic in it, but I think it's for monkeys not for the thinking man. Socrates embodied it. Who are you competing against let alone who are you posturing for if you are drinking henbaine? Or was it, what was it that he drank - hemlock. I think it just paralyzes your body until you cannot breathe. Really? For posturing? I don't think so. That shit came from the heart. And it's definitely not for survival. And he may not have been the perfect man, but to me, more than just a monkey. Call me racist, I guess I don't give that much of a fuck about the human race. Let the niggers populate it and reap what they sow.

Looks like you’re so afraid to lose that you can’t even afford to think of competition. Reality is: it is a natural thing. Some fags would rather be racist and ignore reality than face it.

Nevertheless, I see your point. It is an interesting phenomena to see people that don’t care about competition (between humans, for resources) and prefer living in the simplest - sometimes poorest way - possible. Maybe they lack ambition? Why is that?

Most "struggle" in the world is artificially created, and the struggle that isn't artificial would be easier overcame by cooperation. Even scarcity is starting to go away, with technology like the internet disseminating information at no additional cost. Soon, robotics, artificial intelligence, and technology based on 3d printing joined with CNC will make it very, very apparent that competition is for the maintenance of power, not for advancement of the species or individuals who have not seized that power.
Within a hundred years I predict that the ones who see the working class as prey to be used for acquisition, will no longer need their prey. Then a few things might happen. I'll let the reader speculate. For now.

It won't be a mass culling. They see us as possessions and giving away a possession is antithetical to the mindset.
Unless of course they pull a baby eater scenario, and everybody only kills the people that don't "belong to them."

>>16965
Oh, and I eventually caught on that you're talking about sex, not society. I'm choosing not to address the interpretations of a personal basis, on account of op being a faggot, a prick, and a demented fuck head.

Peace

Not talking about sex, in fact you are the one who is thinking about it.

I am talking about depressed people, or disconnection from society. Thesis such as the rank theory of depression (which has large flaws and could be argued here). But clearly you can’t fucking understand shit. Don’t bother trying.

Ya, ok incel.
/me stairs dead eyed at the forth wall

It's not like it doesn't all tie together anyway. Living in a society based on competative domination leads to dysfunctional hierarchies from the geopolitical to the interpersonal.
What the fuck is Rank Theory? It sounds like the time I spent six months eating my work lunch for dinner and dropping the wrapper next to the couch...
Oh, god, the flies...
Please, oh please sensei, give me the lmgtfy link, oh yes, give it to me good teacher baby

Compete for what? Fancier trinkets that signify an elevated (albeit superfluous) social status (at the expense of burdening society as a whole to satiate one's individual wanton excess, perhaps the existence of the species if given to extreme pessimism/fatalism)?

Energy conservation is fairly prevalent amongst species, sloths for example, as is (typically male) displays of fertility (think plumage and such), unique to humans is the sophistry of the display and gross waste of resource to maintain it, AND literal reproduction often isn't even the goddamn objective.

>>16985
Arguably it is.

hm、 more of a consideration than consternation. Self-critique is more productive than external, with the latter being more of a catalyst for the former.

what if logic were the norm?

Compete for money, status and power. This ultimately means to compete for more comfort, more security, more pleasure, more self-worthiness in life.

philosophy in a nutshell eh?

restate what's been stated, argue semantics, coin a term (and maybe it becomes buzzwordy enough to sell some books)
