/phi/ - Philosophy A board for pretentious debates on epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics, and logic.

Apply them to anything: Science, sex, your mom's cooking. No topic is too sacred or profane.
Consider this your haven where being a self-righteous, over-analytical asshole is encouraged.

What isn't allowed:

1. /b/, /x/, or /rnb/. Go spew your unhinged rants elsewhere.
2. Brainless drivel. If you can’t string two coherent thoughts together, take it to Twitter X.
3. Claims without arguments. "Because I say so" or "because you're gay" doesn’t count as reasoning. Repeatedly trolling and bait replies without substance will be banned.

Global rules apply. No, you can’t argue your way out of a ban for being an idiot. Add to the conversation, don't detract from it.

Friends, I'm dying for direction. What I want is Solipsism as a topic handled from an Existential standpoint, not epistemologically. I want to learn about how Hollywoodian Solipsism effects our mentality and turns us into self-serving drones. I know that might be too opinionated and specific so I am also fine with anything that touches it tangentially. If you have any thoughts on the issue yourself I'd love to hear it.

>I believe that to understand neuronormativity, we must first understand Solipsism. Solipsism is the belief that only the self and its experiences exist. A solipsist would believe that their experiences are the only experiences, essentially reducing others and their experiences to sub-human automations.
>In my opinion, while neurotypicals have been using ideas such as theory of mind to accuse Autistics of lacking the ability to know another’s mind, neurotypicals have been so unaware of the existence of neurodivergent experience that they will inflict pain on us to “help” us conform to their standards.

Solipsism is just autism.

Solipsism means that reality is one-dimensional instead of multilayered.

Solipsism is the foundation of monotheism. A singular omnipotent being that rules and creates everything is by default a solipsistic deity.

Yea, but solipsism postulates there's no two simultaneous existences that are autonomous. Those who claim one god (usually) don't adhere to the idea that within that God there isn't division and multiplicity, however solipsism necessitates that.

Solipsism is the seed of the main character syndrome that affects anyone who is invested in politics

Solipsism is the default setting for autistic people because they lack a theory of mind. If you cannot cognize other people then you are the sole mind in the entire world.

That's not how neurology works, buddy. Your synaptic pruning is defective.

Solipsism isn’t a neurological problem though.

Solipsism is still isn’t inherently neurological though.
We have plenty of neurotypical folk whom are solipsistic and they don’t have any synaptic pruning or whatever you’re referring to.

It’s like how people assume social awkwardness and high intellect means you’re autistic even though there’s a lot of allists that are socially awkward and/or highly intellectual

Defective synaptic pruning is inherently linked to autism and changes in perception. You fail to grasp even basic physical premises.

I dont say no, but youre the one assuming solipsism is exclusively default in autists. Also autism is not the only neurocognitive disorder.

Am I schitzo insane or is everything he says either the boringest shit ever or the most vibe consistent stupid meaningless troll you'll see only mastered on 7chan? Hats off regardless. But if it's a troll, man, the dedication and the vibe consistency (while keeping it this level of boring) is something that should be studied by future generations.

Truly something to behold either way. The guy who's responding is not the less either, I mean to bring this out, truly a dance of two, I swear to God and if none of this is acted, shoot me already, I'm completely delusional and everything is a conspiracy, but you can't tell me this isn't extraordinary.
