/phi/ - Philosophy A board for pretentious debates on epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics, and logic.

Apply them to anything: Science, sex, your mom's cooking. No topic is too sacred or profane.
Consider this your haven where being a self-righteous, over-analytical asshole is encouraged.

What isn't allowed:

1. /b/, /x/, or /rnb/. Go spew your unhinged rants elsewhere.
2. Brainless drivel. If you can’t string two coherent thoughts together, take it to Twitter X.
3. Claims without arguments. "Because I say so" or "because you're gay" doesn’t count as reasoning. Repeatedly trolling and bait replies without substance will be banned.

Global rules apply. No, you can’t argue your way out of a ban for being an idiot. Add to the conversation, don't detract from it.

It's a chair. We use it to sit (preferably comfortably) in a context where otherwise we would need to stand up for a certain amount of time, which would, after a while, start to hurt our back. The position assumed is generally the butt on the horizontal surface, legs in front [of the chair] with the foot on the ground and the back against the vertical surface, but you can assume other position too, although none would be as conformable as the one I've described to you sooner.

It is a picture containing a chair that imitates the form of chair. Clearly the posters above me were duped.

Can any poster above me discern between imitation and reality? If this were a chair, wouldn't I be able to sit in It? Photos of chairs and real chairs have little in common.

The chair represents the stiff and coldness of the narcissistic man this is shown due to the chair being made out of hard wood.

It could also represent the responsibility a man has to deal with due to his coming of age this means that as the wood changes into the shape of a chair as a more useful and effective product as does the person who becomes more mature and responsible as he changes for the better.

It could also represent strength this is shown by the fact that the chair is made of a hard wood instead of a soft wood. This symbolises strength because it shows that the outer layer of ones soul is crafted not through the soul itself but the people around him turning him into a stronger individual.

A) this is not a chair, it is a photo of a chair delivered online. you cannot discern between imitation and reality.
B) did you take your ideas about chair symbolism from some literary analysis paper?

If one prints out enough copies of them, compresses and heats the stacks of copies into a kind of plywood, cuts that wood into the right shapes and then nails or screws it together, they would have a chair.

Or if the monitor they are looking at this picture on happens to be a CRT, they could easily use it as a chair. Or a wrecking ball...
