Here's to the greatest country our human civilization has ever seen. Is it perfect? No, but there has never been such a nation that in just a short 250 years that created more prosperity and technology that lifted up the rest of the world and affords us the great state of living we enjoy today. Fundamentally changing the entire world really. Do I wander? Sure, but I'd never give up my citizenship and there is no other country I'd rather come home to. Consider re-reading the declaration of independence and the grievances they had and try to better understand why this was such a revolutionary, modern and forward thinking document.

Most of all, remember those who have kept or who are keeping this great experiment alive. Also eat as much brisket, ribs, and BBQ chicken as you can! 🍖

Oh wow. Never been to a BBQ restaurant? You can make it at home with an oven too. I do it low and slow at 275 for about 3 1/2 hours. First I put a rub on it the night before. Kinda like ribs. Then at the end hit it with the broiler for about 3 or 4 minutes. Even better if you have a smoker.

Oh ok. You still call the cut brisket where you are? Most countries do but different countries have different cuts.

What "great state of living" are we or the rest of the world enjoying today, exactly??

Let's just glass DC!

It's morning again in America! I could hear the roar of the largest fireworks show in history like a thumpy waterfall last night. It was a good show but would have been better if the weather cooperated and they didn't have to skip a bunch of performers. Quite a few neighbors a mile away and more were pretty active this year setting off fireworks, gunshots and propane cannons.

I just meant in the history of our human civilization there has never been so much technology extending the quality of our lives into old age for one. We have the best healthcare, access to clean and abundant water and food, and technologies that we've shared with the world in food preservation letting us help the developing world. Never have we as a civilization had so much charity and welfare making life better for those who are struggling. Never in our civilization has there been so much free time letting us pursue our passions or even just talk on messageboards. We aren't at war. These truly are the good times. They won't last forever. Things can always get much worse but there are so many things to be thankful for and America 250 is a great time to think about how fortunate we are. We're not perfect. There is still pain and tragedy in the world but we are always trying to create a more perfect union and alleviate that suffering for all humanity as well.

So I guess the TLDR to answer your question is the general prosperity of our civilization.

Liruchan is a rich person. They don't live the lives we all live so they say detached stuff sometimes. You have to allow for that.

It's not because they're rich, it's because although not a full strawberry, they are a fair bit strawberried, but in a good way.

I for one share their optimism.

Although in my opinion a good life mostly constitutes of good social relations, family, community etc, everything else is tertiary unless it's war, famine etc.

Gotta love liruchan, but they're definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed. For the longest time I thought they were trolling but by this time they'd be like that japanese soldier who hid out for 30 years after the war and needed his commander to personally address him to convince the war was over. Liru doesn't have this kind of dedication, nor would his act even be funny in the first place lol.

No offense liru, I actually love you. I just wouldn't stay if you were the only one left. I need a little bit more "intelectual" stimulation or whatever.

Wasn't deliberate.
In the realm of ideas it is the content not the medium that carries the heaviest of significance

As above so below

make the contact and it won't matter how the contact was made, because the fact that it was made, a connection was made is what ultimately will blow you head off. Liru always talks in great english, yet the content is mostly missing. I mean it's great content, don't get me wrong, just not necessarily anything to write home about.

This is my philosophy, other than that - thanks for reading

He's more eh than pretty much anyone on eh, because he does it absolutely effortlessly.

I mean moon and the sky is interesting topics, but bro just has a way of speaking about everything pretty much

And of course god bless him for that

If I am optimistic is another matter completely. I may be somewhat optimistic about the future and we as a civilization may have peaked. I'd rather at least talk about why I think we as a people can get back to the moon or Mars and all the great things to look forward to rather than parrot the divisive, depressing soul sapping content you can read everywhere else. We could even be on the decline really. I'd just rather not talk about it too much and work toward improving my own and people who I care abouts lives. That's you all included (⌒_⌒;)

>>845359
Not really. I do OK but at least financially I am still pretty far from the 1% according to A.I. I am pretty fortunate though in many ways. I grew up in the lower middle class rurally.

>>845360
Yeah, I know I'm a strawberry like everyone here I guess. I never stated I was intellectual in MENSA or a rocket scientist. Funny you mention Onoda. I watched the 2021 movie just a few months ago. It's really good and the kind of adventure, historical, survival kinda story I love to read or watch.

well anyway, I'm the one becoming adult here and that means focusing on irl stuff and doing REAL art instead of this net social endless and perishable
