Okay this is not AI but I had to correct the typos... Ok so, city-state Greeks, the system was designed so that the higher strata of love could survive and proliferate. Nowadays men have completely forgotten that it even exists for the most part. Let alone have any evolved version of it available.
Not to make it too woowoo but You can think of it as chakras. Sexuality and Eros, doesn't end at the root chakra or the sacral chakra. In fact it encompasses all seven.
Although they are ultimately wrong (the greeks) and the ancient Egyptians were more correct with the Isis and Osiris archetypes, that's honestly too advanced even for a relatively evolved society like the greeks let alone our current clusterfuck. Because it taps into spirituality and metaphysics that (for the most part) was not available to the Greeks. It wasn't even available to the later kingdoms of Egypt, but they have inherited something from the early kingdoms (of Egypt) about which we know very little or nothing. Which they themselves inherited from Atlantis of which we know even less than the early kingdoms of Egypt (and modern egyptologists don't even acknowledge that those early kingdoms existed)(And they say the Great pyramid was built 5,000 years ago or whatever which is not the case we won't get into why)(however it's obvious that with each subsequent kingdom their skill and just about everything degraded, the major difference being between the currently acknowledged kingdoms and the ones that made the diorite vases etc AND contrary to popular belief the great pyramid as well).
But anyway, going back to Greeks, they have recognized that with their capability of love they couldn't really express both the higher levels and the lower levels of Eros towards women. So they chose the lesser of two evils which is having all of the levels, but having multiple partners in a sense to fulfill each role.
Just like nowadays for example a man wants the most beautiful woman or one with most godlike voice, then he wants the most closest to heart and relatable, deepest and the coolest least boring etc. It's extremely hard next impossible to find it all in one. So the Greeks decided to dedicate their higher strata of love towards the boys which they thought without the beard could still be admired for their innocence and grace and all that and pursued indeed in a sexual erotic manner, but done so without (intelectual or genuine admiration and love) reservations or restrictions which nowadays men find they have to put on themselves in order to not "turn off" the women. Well, there's a paradox here, but I won't go into it, because it would take too much prerequisites to explain here quickly. On top of of that men were generally more capable of receiving wisdom and understanding things in a fundamentally grounded or righteous, rigorous way.
But yeah, the women then serve the reproductive and the lower chakra erotic roles. And like curating the house space, raising the kids. The virgins like the oracles served to carry/represent the deeper feminine qualities which were interacted with by the priesthood and the most powerful class. There are a higher faculties in women and Greeks recognized it, they just didn't know how to integrate it in any better way.
Well, and then there were non-citizen courtesans... and more.. But that was the basic structure and there is wisdom in it. Including the idea that without eros one would lack true passion or *care* to really transfer wisdom and knowledge and experience. And for the direction of that transfer they also chose a good target. I mean at least something WAS transfered unlike nowadays, but actually it's possible to do to women too, just much more complex and the men have to face certain things that... would take an relatively enlightened society to make work. We are below greeks as a mass civilization. Even if we count just the white/western civilization. We are below city state ancient Greeks. In governance in social structures in so many things. And yeah there was pretty horrible segregation, but slavery is still very much a thing despite the technological progress. Vast majority are laboring for the comfort of very few. It's just less violent, but there's a constant threat of violence unless you fall in line and do as you are commanded. You can't even do business unless it's sanctioned. Hell you cant even have gold for money... Only goycoins are allowed.
