In general, there is no reason to say anything anymore or to be creative and fun if there are negative repercussions that outweigh the positive. That may include rules or ostracization by other members of the community.

For me there is some of that but also a large and growing part of it is also not wanting to feed pet imbecilic algorithms of corporations.
Then there is the long-standing problem of the average user having gone to utter shite over the decades which finally lead to them not being worth my time.

We were a real Internet once. We can rebuild but doing so in this rapidly deteriorating corpse of the original is probably impossible by now.
