For me there is some of that but also a large and growing part of it is also not wanting to feed pet imbecilic algorithms of corporations.
Then there is the long-standing problem of the average user having gone to utter shite over the decades which finally lead to them not being worth my time.
We were a real Internet once. We can rebuild but doing so in this rapidly deteriorating corpse of the original is probably impossible by now.
