Hiya 7chan! ゚∀゚ノ

This month flew by huh? Many of us on the east coast finally got a solid snow/ice storm after quite a few years and more to come! Now it's time for the Full Snow Moon! The moon will become full tommorow February 1st at 5:09 P.M. EST.

There isn't anything particularily special about the full moon this upcoming month and I've explained the meanings of this moon which also goes by the Bald Eagle Moon, Eagle Moon, Raccoon Moon, Black Bear Moon, Goose Moon, and Groundhog Moon many times. It is neither really close nor far away and the total lunar eclipse is coming up in March. Oh! Groundhog day is coming up the day after tommorow.

I've been doing well. I just got back from skiing in West Virginia. I'll be heading back to Iceland on the 3rd. It's been 11 years since I've been there and you all were there with me! Is the Icelandic anon still around? I thank you again for the recommendations back then. This time I'll be going to the festival of lights in Reykjavik and of course driving the ring road and enjoying the last of the solar maximum with the Aurora! I'll be sure to post pics in this thread!

I hope you have a great viewing tommorow and that the weather is clear and cold! It's amazing how bright it is outside at night during a clear night, full moon and a thick layer of icy snow isnt it? ❄️ Cya! <3

I was just thinking about Liru-chan last night looking up at the moon. Visibility's been good here, fingers crossed for more clear skies tonight/tomorrow.

That can't be AI, can it? It's really well drawn.

saw the moon, it was ok, briefly made me remind the cosmos and our connection to it through it, mostly because we can't see the stars in the city anymore

I don't know what errors you were talking about. I'm not seeing them. This looks like human work to me.

Yeah, the moon was pretty but a bit obscured so I'm going to check it out again tonight when it's clearer. AI is fun sometimes too! It seems like as it gets better it also becomes more moderated even with innocent prompts. It also has problems with people's likenesses quite often but I think that is unfortunately intentional.

First two of your pics were much higher quality, so much so I thought for a second they were made by an artist. Especially the speed spikes off her ass, that really led me in the wrong direction first.

It's a bit, right? Not knowing that the porn of Liru was AI and not, like, fanart, right? Because no one could be that stupid and be allowed to live on their own without internet monitoring.

Anyway, the moon is in the right place at this time of year for me to not actually go outside to see it, so I spent a little time sitting on the stairs gazing out the window at it last night. Always time well spent. <3

Nice pictures! I'm just laying low and slept in because I'm going to be out all night in Reykjavik for the first day of the lights festival. I did go take some nice pics of the moon in thermal springs and dangerous ones on the ocean rocks that smash water way up in the air! Almost got wiped out once and wet a few times!

Trip all done! Just sitting here in Kaflavik airport waiting for my flight home. Had alot of fun and saw whales, orca and got to hike and climb in glacier ice caves with all the gear I rented and group I went with.

I was really worried I might not see the Aurora but just yesterday I went all out and got a cottage in the middle of nowhere and surely enough, the weather finally cleared up and put on a show. What was interesting was this was when the Aurora was very quiet. Like Kp index 1.8-2.0 out of 10 quiet and it still put on a nice little show. Green only unfortunately but now I so want to come back and see a real active Aurora. I've been showed videos of the sky and all around literally glowing greens and reds and it looked like another world. Oh well... At least I finally saw it on this trip. I was really getting worried.

The Festival of lights was kind of a let down, but I was well dressed and was able to sneak into the museum where they were having a bit of a soirée before the opening of the festival and got to speak with Heiða Björg the mayor of Reykjavik (pictured) and PM Kristrún Frostadóttir which was around somewhere supposedly. T'was sneaky fun! ;) Also ate well. Lots of fish, whale, horse and puffin and delicious water and other foods.

How has the US been? I have been 100% out of the news loop for the last 11 days or so. Also, Romanian Dacia Duster SUVs kinda suck but I partly blame the car rental company.

I mean c'mon I know it's a sea bird but they are respectfully harvested in Iceland. It's not like I was eating some seagull in New York harbor with all the yuck they take in. This is a species that lives off the cliffs of iceland and honestly have been dwindling in numbers. So it's totally not sick. It kept native Icelanders alive during hard times. It tastes like a greasy goose or a Canadian goose/duck in my mind. I'd rather not eat it again. Also it was smoked.

Happy Valentines Day 7chan!

Hmmm.....It's not like it some dirty old sea gull from NYC.....
We are very fond Puffins where I am from.
Okay in Iceland, food is anything you eat that doesn't kill you. Still how you weren't eating Cod, Haddock, salmon all time. Guess the fishing industry maybe turning to shit.
Going native with natives.
poor innocent puffins

I ate quite a bit of fish too. It's not everyday you get to try something different though. I happened to talk to someone on the whale watching ship I was on about Iceland who was from the UK and they were saying that Iceland has long been very protective of their territorial waters see here...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cod_Wars

Also something happened recently that I don't remember but supposedly fish & chips in the UK from a "chippy" shop has got so expensive recently largely to blame Iceland for doing something protecting what they believe is their own fishing grounds. I haven't dug deep into it but something has been going on the last few years that is doing this so I was told.

As for eating a cute bird, eh... it's not like my diet or even Icelanders diets are centered around them anymore. There is more work done in the Westman Islands now trying to save them than eat them even though they do have yearly harvests during the puffin festivals all around iceland. Many "pufflings" are thrown off a cliff to kick start their lives because for some reason at least in the Westman islands they refuse to breed. So I dunno. It was nice to try something traditional while I was visiting. Whale on the other hand had a distinct blood/iron taste to me which was skillfully tried to mask by the chef but if you sat there and chewed on it pretty good it came through. As for horse which I ate last time many years ago, it just tasted like a bad beef steak so I don't ever need to eat that again unless it's fun with company.

Oh, the Cod wars, yeah it's just getting worse ever year. We've P'd off the Russians and lost a big piece of their fishing ground. That we had deal going back 70 years.
The French... Yeah
Plus Portugal, Spain...
The price, those people you talk to weren't lying. It used to be regular everyday food, now it's a luxury.
Feck I sound like I should be on /rnb
