I understand how you feel, but I think you should consider that you are an addict saying this.
I am also an addict. I abuse alcohol regularly, and marijuana whenever possible, but I got off the hard shit and nicotine several decades ago.
If we were not addicts, maintaining a weed habit might not be such a risk. Indeed, I find that these days I can stay on weed and off alcohol pretty easily.
Alcohol is bad shit that makes people do stupid shit
Weed is not good for you, but the dumbest thing you will end up doing on it is spacing out instead of going to work, and it's pretty easy to put it down--even for an addict like me.
I know it isn't for everybody, and it doesn't fix anything (unless you need the munchies to get over the nausea and lack of appetite your cancer meds give you), but it can do wonders for a few people and comes with far fewer health risks than legal drugs like alcohol, nicotine, and caffine--especially if you have alternatives to smoking it available.
