immigrants pay some 66B in taxes; an admiration that "champions" tackling fraud/waste/abuse balloons an agency's budget by ~10x, that agency then fraudulently/illegally obtains tax data so that they can target/deport those people paying taxes and receive accolades/legitimization from voters who (in general) make so little that they receive tax rebates and benefits from government assistance programs paid for, in part, by those immigrants

hm, but mostly dhs exists to divert tax revenue into the pockets of politicians and their cronies

imagine if we had a 10x increase in education, with an emphasis on adult education and vocational (re)training.

as opposed to creating a welfare system with token job responsibilities to give the facade that it ain't, in fact, a welfare program... that is entirely justified and fueled by fear propaganda slash hysteria slash mass-ignorance

Yep, that would deal with half the problem
The other half of the problem will be much hard to solve though. The people with all the money, who created the real, long lasting jobs/business. Control the civil service and by default the government.
So they can keep welfare/unemployment exactly where they want it.
Thus controlling the how many people have jobs, the quality of jobs and the pay. Unemployment controls wages.
So the last thing the truly rich are going to do is educate anybody beyond what they need, they may even find ways to stop people getting educated. As they might, dare I say it leave the country and move in search of a better life. Outside if thier control.

Hmmm, "control" seems to be important to the truly rich and keeping people uneducated seems to be a tool of I.

the truly terrifying thing is that these dumb fucks don't want to be educated nor do they have the emotional stability to be productive members of society in general, hence barbarism and disfunction under the auspices of "serving their country"

even if we had robust/accessible (and even free) education/reeducation/job training, they would scoff, because like their idols (and the welfare recipients they despise), they just want to grift and receive handouts with minimal-to-no actual effort mentally or physically.

we're creating a labor shortage in ag, medical, and tech-- precisely the industries these people don't want to work in because of aforementioned reasons, well, in addition to the fact that those employers would prefer cheaper/exploitable immigrants.

america is a nation of adult children who think they can have and eat their cake, but physics ya know

as for our rich, probably a good time to divest from the dollar, barely a year in and even if dems regain control AND do more than the bare minimum to stay in office (and the perks thereof, moreso), this dipshittery will persist and reps are deadset on regression and feudalism and inevitably will get back in to continue the circus, it sucks to say, but feels very much like we're a failed state that hasn't quite realized it... bbbut number 1 mil in teh world, eh, how's the number 2 mil faring (the "ideal" is literally the same system of corruption simply with a veneer of faux-americana)?

I'm on the other side of the planet, yet similar problems, with a few differentences.
In my country the doctors guild controls how many doctors are created each year.
Just let that sink in....
Yes, even if a 1,000 more students doctors pass their exams. They don't get to become doctors.

Yes, there are a lot of people thinking living on welfare is good.
Like I said this by design. The ones that end up thinking going criminal is good, that creates more jobs for controling this new underclass
Social workers, lawyers, police, all the courts, jails.
The civil service to run this welfare system, are part of the same welfare system.

Here a one for you 1 in 5 Australian's is a civil servant in shape or form. That is a broken system.
Well I think so.

I'll leave it there

The interesting and humorous (in a gallows way) thing is that the typical american is so fucking ignorant of their own history.

Our nation was essentially a dumping grounds for English/European poor, criminals and religious fanatics (which is saying something, considering the status quo of the day and age), the romanticized rugged pilgrims shtick came later, for obvious reasons.

We merely got lucky with geography/circumstances of ww2 (how about them immigrant scientists?), we got rich, we got fat, and we got dumb(er?) AND there is absolutely nothing special about america beyond its now waning acceptance of foreigners and emphasis on education, full stop.

One supposes the truly rich already have their escape hatch ready, and the rest of the populace will either perish or be indentured servants based around minerals or agriculture (to the extent either can be maintained), and much of its cities/towns will be barren ruins, a token of what it had, before it so gleefully accepted being sold out by the very people they elected to lead them.

And the world moves on, led by mature/educated civilizations. The USA, a flash in the pan in the course of human history.

well, what sense would it make to not keep incomes artificially high, or for the masses to realize that they themselves are their own oppressors

further, in regards to america, the ONLY reason their hegemony currently exists is PRECISELY because maga (for all intents and purposes) russia/china are MORE CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT then they are
