I used to browse here a lot about 15ish years ago, tried to make my life better but ended up just regretting everything. Why the fuck do we bother.

I got myself a wife, child and even a job but it just keeps getting worse daily regardless of how hard i try

Someone whispered to me that you have to be nonchalant when you try. Otherwise this shit don't work. IDK dude, I think it's just the arrogant God - always wanting you to remember that HE owns this place... so like feel free to enjoy and explore, but don't go around thinking that you own any of it. And then you'll be fine most likely. God will leave you alone. But if you cling, he will put you through the ringer, just because he's an arrogant and possessive prick and supposedly doesn't want anyone to get the wrong impression. But hey, at least he lets us play with it. It's like that kid who has all the toys in the world and let's anyone borrow them and use them and do whatever they want with them, a rich kid I guess, but the moment you forget that it's actually his toys he fucking gets pissed and starts having a tantrum. He just got to be grateful and realize that you're playing with borrowed toys. The kid is really generous, I'll give him that. He's just a little fucked in the head about who owns it. That's fine by me.

I don't think many people come here with the aim to making their lives better. I think for many it's a vent or maybe moreso back in the day of messageboards a information resource or even a means of support to anonymously bounce ideas off others.

Why do we bother? What other choice do we have? Now you have a wife, child and job and that should be taking up alot of your time. Maybe you weren't ready for that yet? Yet all of our biological clocks are ticking aren't they?

I do wish you the best. Most people here are genuinely friendly and some will even go to great lengths to get in a deep rooted conversation with you. I hope you have a great holiday season coming up! ✌(ツ)

I have to concur with all of this.

Using any anonymous image board shouldn't really be driving whether life is good or bad, so leaving (or staying) isn't going to be life altering. If you are really struggling with life though, there is no shame in reaching out for help, advice, therapy, etc. in order to work on your own happiness.

When I was in my 20s life was an exciting adventure and I wanted to get out there and do shit. Now everything is just more of the same. Oh well I will just be comfy and pass time doing whatever I enjoy. I am glad I never created a family because I don't want to drag people into this bullshit

To marvel at the magic and be enchanted
Maybe a bit of ecstasy too
To each his own, but honestly, what is more that is there to do? But hey, to each his own.

Nice! I'm jealous! I'd like to do that sometime maybe next fall. Is that a ~125cc Suzuki scooter? I have a motorcycle back home and I'd love to someday go on some rides over there. I had a car for some parts of my journey the second and third time I was in Japan but mostly took trains and busses. I made notes of places far out that I really should check out when I get another car or bike again in Japan. I will probably be going there again in late January to ski. I am looking more into walking the Camino de Santiago in the next year or two.

Yeah, you are so right about it being affordable. The yen is still weak and you don't have to live it up every day. In fact it's better if you don't. Try the ryokans and minshukus some, business hotels some and capsules even for cheap. Also if you fly commercial, there are flights to Narita for only a few hundred dollars on zipair.

If you like to backpack/travel and has to just GET OUT now and then, hang around some. It's been years since I talked with any travelers here. Did you get up to Nikko? This is a famous spot in Initial D. Nikko Iroha Slope Corner 33.

We are all blessed in some ways and also have our own shortcomings. We should do the things we need to keep our spirits up and to give our lives purpose whatever that may be.
In last year's nest there are no birds this year.

Some people are still affected by the past and have an inherant need to to go or try new things to distract themselves from dwelling on the past. Sometimes this is better than trying to confront something or someone that will never result in the outcome you want. You never know, sometimes distractions can let in a little happiness in the strangest places.

200cc Suzuki Burgman, just enough power for the expressways. You can rent them for about 7,500 yen per day. Not that cheap I guess but nothing beats the freedom to just ride wherever you feel like going. I did about 200km per day for a total of 4,000km.

Ah I didn't have that in my notes so I missed it. I did a fair bit of touge stuff up in the mountains though, and did the Wangan route from Osaka to Yokahama. I'll have to note that one for next time if I get the chance for a second visit.

Depending on where you live, there are some very cheap places you can take a holiday. I went to Vietnam for about a month for like $1.5k. I am a bit envious of Amerifats who can just go south into Mexico and then even further into places like Colombia and whatnot without even stepping on a plane. Here it's an 8 hour flight to get anywhere.
