Hiya 7chan! ヾ(・ω・`*)

It's that time again! The full Sturgeon Moon! The moon will become full at 3:55 A.M. EST this Saturday the 9th. So your best time to see it will be tommorrow night on Friday or Saturday night (Perfect moon party time) Yep, we are firmly in the Dog Days of Summer. You know, when it's hot, humid and often really hazy. Speaking of hazy, those Canadian Wildfires really are making it hazy around here on the East Coast. I wonder if the anon who lives up near Banff national park can give us some insight what's going on up there and what they are doing about it!

Have you ever wondered why we call it the "Dog Days" of summer? It actually hearkens back to the Roman times and the rising of the star Sirius. The Romans called it "dies caniculares" which translates to something along lines of the days of the dog star, a particularily hot and miserable time of the year. It's also an Anime too. A kinda boring one that I had to force myself to get through the first season. It got three seasons! Sucks many good anime only get one. Oh! There actually is a planetary alignment this month that coincides with the Full Moon. Venus, Jupiter and Saturn will be grouped together and it should appear pretty obvious.

As for me, I've been out and about on a few trips and getting some much needed maintenance done on the homesteads. At this point I am sooo wishing for fall to come and have a long extended one. I don't want to rush to winter, but I look forward to those cool crisp nights (without wildfire smoke!) where you can sit outside or even have a bonfire without burning up! I wish you all have a wonderful night and great viewing! Cya! <3

This Summer has been a bit relentless with the heat, and I'm certainly looking forward to some cooler Autumn nights as well. Sadly, I'm a bit too urban for bonfires to be feasible, so the girlfriend and I will sit around our little propane fueled "fire pit," and make believe instead.

Tell me about the heat! Yeah, one of my friends has that little stainless steel thing that doesn't smoke (supposedly) that you can put wood and stuff in. It will not look good for long. They were popular for awhile but they WILL rust. They look like this when new. Do you ever cook on it? I have a steel fire pit but I never use it because it kills all the grass around it anyways so I just do it on the ground in a nice spot with a wide view of the sky that doesn't get a ton of wind.

Oh! I forgot to tell the carrot anon that drew the nice picture of the night sky and moon that it was really pretty. 🌕 g2g!

The first one we got was somewhat like that, and you burned wood in it. It did indeed rust out after just one season though. The one we currently have is more like a large metal table that you remove the top cover from, revealing a bed of colored glass stones. Propane jets underneath them allow flames to rise up from beneath. It's nothing like a real fire pit, but is still somewhat relaxing.

talking about "wild fires", bruh that shit is so obviously staged, in the same day there were like 5+ fires in my country and one in the frontier with the next country, I bet like 90% of those were man made

Cool, I've seen those. Including the long ones that are highly decorated at hotels. Pair that with a patio heater and you can really extend the outdoor time.

>>838749
Oh, so it probably is arson? I can believe that. Smokey use to always say forest fires then it became "wildfires" ehh, maybe some are also people not putting out campfires, cigarettes and auto exhausts. If they are close to the road you'd think they would be able to take care of it quicker. That's really too bad because it affects everyone. Just dumb destruction. All that fuel. Too bad it's not economically feasible to be harvested for energy anymore. (ノ_<、) Oh? Like a brick BBQ? Should be a fun project to make!

>>838788
Nice pic! Sooo I actually went to a friends place where two of us were hanging out after another went home. They live closer to a town and I brought my spotting scope which does pretty good for the moon too. Everything became so clear and beautiful and the air quality index was one of the lowest ive seen in a long time! Weird huh?! I was served waaay waaay stronger drinks than usual apparently and it was like 4am and my friends no longer cared and I couldn't hold my phone steady enough to take a picture of the moon through the scope! Here is the only pic I got with the moon and scope on that night! ( ^_^)o自

Hope everyone liked the moon! 🌕 Of course I messed up the starfield/landscape scene with a space a few nights ago. (III╥_╥)

something about 1st day of real heat in august, multiple fires the same exact day rubs me the wrong way, I'm also schizo so hahahah :DDDDDD

we did BBQ'd the steak, bro was like "no you have to cook it only a little" a fucking chef no less, it has to be raw on the inside and almost charred on the outside, apparently I'm more gourmet than actual chefs, it was good fun though

wolfie, do you know of any good pic of a pro telescope of the jupiter venus conjunction? I searched the net a bit and everything was 2 distant stars kind of deal, no high res detailed view of the two planets at once

Sorry for late reply. Beef will always be #1 in my heart but I was given a bunch of frozen bison steaks like ribeye and also quite a bit of ground bison. Apparently they were going to have a huge 4th of July celebration with like 70 people and only like half showed up. So I was like, "you have a freezer these will last you know!" I wasn't going to complain about someone giving me free bison! The price for beef steaks has gone up some in the last month. Think I'll thaw two now. As for the cooking of steaks, I'm pretty firmly in the medium rare camp. It shouldn't be completely red on the inside and the outside should have a nice sear but not completely black lol! I'll sometimes marinate with my own mix that uses worcestershire sauce among other things but no matter how anyone cooks it, it comes down to preference. Some like charred black shoe leather, some like it blue/raw.

>>838851
To be honest, at the time I totally forgot about the planets. (,,>﹏<,,)

I haven't seen any, but if I do I will post it. You might want to check Astrobin or its forums.

I guess modern 7chan just wants to enable this one tranny and nothing else.
I was also banned for "ban evasion" when I did no such thing. maybe they thought I was someone else because low IQ people assume the first conclusion they come to is the correct one. since they accuse me of something I didn't do, I did it anyway and am posting with VPN, which works perfectly well here humorously.

(DAMN THAT'S CRAZY)

Mods here hate good posters. Unfortunately indeed they are retarded. But they rarely permaban, so you gotta give it to them where the giving is due. Furthermore it's one of the few remaining bastions of culture on the internet so as long as they do it for the right reasons we can only be grateful for them. I come from places where mods were damn near insufferable. This is actually heaven.

I mean right reasons in the grand scheme of things, not on particular issues, but we all make mistakes and we're all retarded in one way or another. Curse of dimensionality.

So long as they don't hand any users into the hands of LE, they have my respect. This place works because it's anonymous. Some moderation sometimes is better than none unless we had strong bot control, idk. Maybe something automated/decentralized would work maybe not.

Rare to find someone agreeing with the moderation of a platform or a forum to this extent. Almost seems like you might be sucking them off a little bit, but who knows. In my 20 years of being a retard online, I haven't yet observed one community that was being moderated the way I would have moderated it. But maybe I'm the problem. You live in an Utopia, bro. God bless.
