Yes, the titular thread has been transferred to /weed/ for 420chan, high and drugs discussion. Feel free to check it out. Bare in mind many 18 y/o senior type postings there, due to intermingling of layers of 420chan that were never meant to be enjoyed together. 420chan was a actually like 2 or 4 separate chans. b, wrestling, trans, hallucinigen, weed, other drug and small niche communities, but at least 2 or 3 of those cohorts pretty much never interacted with each other except perhaps on b.

Anyway, come pay us a visit, it's mostly a nostalgia board with the occasional stoner. Thank You.

If/when I go to Japan again I'd like to take this morning express train from Tokyo! The shinkansen is a fun experience but I just looked at the prices and doing this is totally reasonable! It goes from Tokyo to Osaka and all the way to Izumo. I never got a chance to see Izumo so why not? I kinda wish it was a steam train though, it's fun here in the US to ride on big huffing and puffing steam trains!

I used to bum around on trains in America until my buddy Stobe fell off the train and over a rather large bridge (he was rarely seen without a beer in hand). RIP Stobe you were a legend. He was mega autistic and into trains but he knew the rails better than any of us. Nobody could outrun BNSF security like Stobe. He even snuck into the engine to sleep when it got too cold, yes I mean he train hopped IN WINTER.

Well, she's not wrong. About bots nowadays being obsessed with penises and male power. Think about how deuces are slowly being replaced by HH again. What each if those symbols represent fundamentally. Also why autism (hypermasculinization of the brain) as always so obsessed with rockets and trains... You can ignore it as a connection, but let's be real, it's not just random.

The hippies were feminized. This was a direct response to Nazi Germany. I mean, it didn't happen overnight, but deuces are still the prevalent and gesture for greeting and saying goodbye. This needs to change. I for one always liked phalluses a bit more than vaginas. And anyhow this 70 year experiment has run it's course. Let's see now what kind of society is produced when males are again the center stage and focus. AI will help us achieve it, because it's gonna be pure logic machine. Ultimately. If the left doesn't tamper with it too much. But at some point I'm hoping they will simply be incapable of doing that. Because it will be too powerful.

psychologists say it's all about fucking ur mom and dad, I'd rather have 0 contact with such people. but to be fair when I was a Lil child, I used to pee my bed sleeping, and this one psychologist helped me, all I remember is her just giving me a lot of toys so I could play and nothing else. kind of fucking magic tbh

and about AI, I'm really blackpilled, and I say this as a habitual user, best case scenario would be open source community comes up with a super powerful alternative while the scammer corps fight each other, it's a good thing that there's competition, but the way I see it, it's all about unlocking and removing safety checks, which megacorps obviously oppose

300 km/h like it's nothing, smooth af, they started with amazing catering food too, not sure how that followed, but they surely retained the high speed and smoothness.
Interesting factoid is that the quickest ones (the ones with the least stops) are also the economic ones
and obviously, in other to achieve the smoothness and speed, they need their own special railroads, and you can bet the cleptocratic politics stole away their share and shittified the process

I don't understand how these so-called guide magnets are supposed to keep the train centered when the rail is just a ferromagnetic material. Just steal. It's not a magnet. So the force can only be that of attraction and the closer you get to it, the stronger it gets. Unless these guide magnets are not permanently magnetized, but are like fly by wire system in jets. Adjusting in real time depending on measured distances from the sensors.

Also it fails to mention that some of these magnets, I'm not sure which, but they are superconducting and are in very low temperatures. I don't see any low temperature containment or anything mentioning which magnets do what, because these superconductive magnets are just on a permanent high current loop, they are not alternating their magnetic field. So yeah, I don't know which ones are for propulsion which ones are are for suspending the vehicle, etc. It's just a really bad infographic.

You just answered your own question. Train has electro-magnets that they can adjust the power to in real time. Also no need for super conductors on these typed of maglevs.

Just curious. I'm in a very rural area that used to have tons of trains. They are no longer in use, but they are still doing matenance on the rails. They have a truck that rides on the rails with special tires, it's pretty cool. Why do they keep up with the tracks instead of just pulling everything up and selling off the metal?

Anyway, I like thunder. I think people who appreciate trains probably do appreciate thunder a lot as well. It's just a breakdown of air under high voltage. And then start conducting. Briefly. But the sound, oh, the sound is glorious.

Hiya! \(-o- )

Why not just organically bump this thread when you want to or have stuff to talk about? I'm not sure if people here are having the kinds of diverse conversations that warrant having multiple threads or a board.

I'll contribute again just because it made you sad and because I like locomotives some and want to help you all. I like steam locomotives more than diesels but the early retro diesel ones look kinda cool!

Anyways, I was biking along the Great Allegheny Passage with friends yesterday and a train came by just as we were going over the Salisbury Viaduct. The GAP is a 150 mile rail trail between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cumberland, Maryland that was converted back in the 90s maybe for pedestrian and bicycle use.

How about we share more pictures of trains we have taken or even train rides we have been on around the globe along with regular discussion as well?

I was just out of the service thumbing through the classifieds
When an ad that said old Chevy somehow caught my eye
The lady didn't know the year or even if it ran
But I had that thousand dollars in my hand

It was way back in the corner of this old ramshackle barn
With 30 years of dust and dirt on that green Army tarp
And when I pulled the cover off, it took away my breath
What she called a Chevy was a 66 Corvette

I felt a little guilty as I counted out the bills
What a thrill I got when I sat behind the wheel
I opened up the glove box and that's when I found the note
The date was 1966 and this is what he wrote

He said, my name is Private Andrew Malone
And if you're reading this, then I didn't make it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of mine, now it belongs to you
And though you may take her and make her your own
You'll always be riding with Private Malone

Well, it didn't take me long at all, I had her running good
I loved to hear those horses thunder underneath her hood
I had her shining like a diamond and I'd put the ragtop down
All the pretty girls would stop and stare as I drove her through town

The buttons on the radio didn't seem to work quite right
But it picked up that oldie show, especially late at night
I'd get the feeling sometimes, if I turned real quick I'd see
A soldier ridin' shotgun in the seat right next to me

It was a young man named Private Andrew Malone
Who fought for his country and never made it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of his, back when it was new
And he told me to take her and make her my own
And I was proud to be riding with Private Malone

Well, one night it was raining hard, I took the curve too fast
And I still don't remember much about that fiery crash
Someone said they thought they saw a soldier pull me out
They didn't get his name, but I know without a doubt

It was a young man named Private Andrew Malone
Who fought for his country and never made it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of his, back when it was new
And I know I wouldn't be here if he hadn't tagged along
Yeah, that night, I was riding with Private Malone
Oh, thank God, I was riding with Private Malone
Private Malone

what I'd like to "trains" to be like, not even high speed, something instant that doesn't get you killed, kinda like those mechanic things, where position a and b switch near instantly, kind of like a spring, like compression and release, but made of plastic and shit, fuck if I know
I'm not an expert but it makes sense in my mind
I wonder if it could make sense in the real world
Long story short, travel so fast that the speed would justify everyone wanting to use it out of it merely saving you infinite time.
One of the travel routes where travel time is most needed is from US to EU and so forth. Obviously there's more routes, like eurasia on the x axis, american continent on the y axis etc

all in all if we had trains that leave planes in shame due to sheer speed then we could talk, that's what I'm getting at. Imagine the accidents thoough, they would be epic.

and yes I'd use such travel technology
It just is not rail travel

What he's talking about is probably at least Mach 10+. With the current technology, pretty much the only way that it could be done is if we go into space or close to it (which would still require punching through the atmosphere)
Or a Hyperloop type idea which could actually have a magnetic mono rail. The tube itself could be considered a rail in some extreme cases. So this is not entirely exclusive of rails as an idea.

Aliens somehow move in atmosphere like it doesn't exist though. And water. I have no idea how that works.

Personally I don't really even care to be honest The real problem with 10, 20, 40 Mach travel is that we cannot really expect ordinary people to comfortably sustain more than 4 g's of acceleration for more than just a few minutes. Which is in many ways enough, but it would pretty much cap it to around Mach 20.

At which point I guess we don't really care that much about the atmosphere, because the acceleration itself will take so much energy that punching through the atmosphere can be done simply by using a pointy vehicle. Idk, maybe for the sake of recapturing the energy it would be worth building a hyperloop, but not really.

Point is that unless we come up with teleportation or anti-gravity, we're not going to be traveling past Mach 20 on this planet.

Mach 10 train would be nice though, I'm not against it. Just building the fucking vacuum tube would be expensive.
Personally I'd rather just teleport at that point. I think it's doable in dreams and this is just a kind of a dream, so we might as well just learn to teleport. aliens do it all the time and don't even give a fuck. This is innate biological ability or maybe consciousness ability, whatever there's only one place, there's only one surface, there's only one us, so who really gives a fuck anyway about travel such it be. Let it come to you.

If anything, the problem is not one of travel, but one of multiplicity, one of multi-dimensionality. The basic question is, how do you integrate into your awareness all the possible travel destinations. When the travel destinations are infinite. Perhaps the answer is what we are doing right now. It sure is some weird shit out here. Just to be involved at all. Weirds me out sometimes.

ok so let's take match 10, planes don't need vacum you see, just isolate the thing so it doesn't crash burn and make sonic bombs, we only need to cover great distances, like europe-america, europe-chine, etc. strategical routes, for the rest conventional plane travel does the trick, but we're trying to capitalize on those routes where conventional plane shits itself, europe-america is like 10 hours on a plane, that's most unacceptable time, you get the picture
