Yeah, but I'm all out of money, well I do have a trickle here and a trickle there, but by the time I'm done with audio, there's nothing left for the car.

Gotta do a tune, but I'm too stupid to do it myself and I don't have a spare 500 euros.

But the engine is done. Should do around 400bhp.

It's a Frankenstein.

Changed compression ratio from 1:9 to 1:8.5, bigger turbo, more cc injectors, big fuel pump, forged rods and crank, nice big intercooler, aftermarket exhaust. 5 cylinder inline volvo.

Factory ECU. It wants to pull (well by my standards I know kids these days have big power on everything), but the map is off and yeah.. not my area of expertise. No money to hire an expert.

I'm pretty shit at cars. And they're horrible money pits. I know a lot about audio though. Hifi side of things. For a few k you can get what few will find with a few tens of ks. A good audio system will transport you to Andromeda and back way cheaper than a Bugatti. I do wonder how a Bugatti would drive, but I know for a fact it's not as powerful as even a modest soundsystem. Let you feel power that the billionaires never even dreamed about nor imagined.

Man, I miss the car audio culture of the 90’s and aughts. I grew up around a lot of people into it. For a hot minute my buddy who sold cocaine for a living had this beat to shit ‘03 Benz SLR with two fucking fifteens in the back. It was the type of mishmashed gaudy a
American shit I was here for.

Headphones and small listening rooms. I particularly like low powered stuff. For ultra purity and spooky stuff.

This. I really miss my old S2000. I had a very nice component system installed and had the head unit replaced. Until recently when all my cars tend to come with pretty good audio I always had that done and (at the time) put on a llumar metallic window tint which looked great with my polished aluminum wheels. I didn't "rice" my car much but kept it pretty tasteful.

>>836951
Kinda, but I hated all the people with the huge subs. I have a nice home theater as well but that stuff really went overboard.

I didn't think so at the time. It did sound noticeably better and I got MP3 CD functionality with it so I wouldn't have to deal with the CD changer.

As for headphones, I have a 12 year old or so pair of Sennheisers that sound pretty nice that was given to me. Not high end, probably 300 I'd guess. I haven't used them in years though as any relaxing I am doing or listening to music is done in my home theater where I have a nice HTPC, sound dampning panels on the wall, Yamaha amplifier and Klipsch Dolby Atmos reference speakers. I've never been a fan of headphones because I really don't like friends creeping up on me and not being aware of sounds around you.

Happy D-Day remembrance everyone! It's been 81 years.

I just found out that they are bringing back the iconic S2000! (♥ω♥*)

https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/performance-cars/honda-s2000-is-back-and-it-s-got-a-hybrid-punch/ar-AA1BLSyo

I'm not sure how I feel about it being a hybrid though. Details are still sketchy. Maybe they feel it needs an hybrid/electric drivetrain to compete performance wise with modern electric vehicles with another naturally aspirated 2 liter. Don't make it electric yet please don't screw it up!!!

I'm not sure if you have heard but here in the USA we can now sell our autos in Japan because of a recent trade deal. (Beef as well to Australia for the first time in twenty years which is AWESOME but that's another story) I am not sure if they will sell well over there though. They already have neat cars and trucks for each segment of the market and I snapped a pic of this little roadsterish vehicle that also looked like it could go offroad if it wanted too. I think I was in a national park there. The second to last time I was in Japan I went to an American car show which was really fun and I made a few friends. A couple people were talking and asking questions in half English and actually I kinda made myself look dumb a bit with cars. Ehhh. They were all so nice though and welcoming and it's cool seeing your home countries cars in another country! (*´▽`*)

LMAO of course nepo baby is praising Trump's attempted rape of the Japanese automobile industry.
Yes, let's praise Trump for bringing more American cars to Japan.
>Cars that suck in reliability compared to Japanese cars.
>Cars that don't fit well on the smaller Japanese roads and parking areas.
>Cars with worse fuel economy and environmental standards, that will screw up the environment in Japan.
Trump wants to force them to buy American, using it as a political weapon to artificially boost American imports that they just don't want because our cars are GARBAGE compared to the efficiency of theirs.
Let's give them that loud, huge vehicle so they too can experience the disconnect from pedestrians and cyclists, causing more lives lost, road rage, and feeling of road entitlement in the long run.
I'm sure the niche market of American car buyers in Japan that you saw on one of your many vacations each year will translate perfectly well to Japan overall.
You're a fucking disgusting, oblivious and malicious human being, and I hope your family goes bankrupt just like your conscience.

Yes. I think it's fair that if you live in Japan and you want an American car you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to import/buy one just like I would not want to have to do the same for a new S2000.

>trump doing this and that trying to kill a major industry of one of our greatest allies

Oh give it a rest. Thats crazy talk. He is trying to level the playing field so the USA also have a chance to compete in their marketplace. While I think Japan does small vehicles well, they aren't as good at large trucks like the half tons and 3/4 tons. As for efficiency, Japan was really good many years ago and still is today, but fuel economy and emission standards have been maxed out in both our countries for many years. Also the fact is many of the small cars I saw in Japan I don't think you could get registered/sold here normally because they lack alot of the safety equipment and features that cars sold in America have adding many pounds of bloat that honestly many times I don't want.

>random personal name calling
Ehh... kinda sad really. Anyways, I am excited to see what Honda comes up with for the new S2000! (*^_^*)

teehee, gosh, you're right, liru fag.
it's not like we've spent the last 40 years hemorrhaging market share because we build bloated garbage that falls apart after 80,000 miles.
it's not like gm, ford, and chrysler got humiliated by toyota and honda in the 80s and never recovered because they were too busy pumping out dogshit v6 sedans and praying no one noticed their engines exploded while still under warranty.

it's not like ford literally pulled out of japan in 2016 after years of humiliating sales figures, under 1% market share, and that was with zero tariffs.
the "barriers" were never regulatory, you dumb fuck. they were cultural and practical.
our cars DO NOT FIT in japanese infrastructure.

they're EXACTLY LIKE AMERICANS: TOO wide, TOO thirsty, and TOO stupidly designed for a society that values precision, economy, and refinement over "i need a 12 mpg truck to go to the fucking grocery store."

you think the japanese want our 3-ton pedestrian killers clogging up their tight roads and narrow alleys? you think they want chevy tahoes idling outside kindergartens, choking toddlers with exhaust and blocking emergency vehicle access??
trump's deal isn't about "leveling the playing field," you oblivious cunt. it's a political stunt, forcing what WAS a close ally to pretend they want our cars so he can wave a paper around and say "i fixed trade."

and of course, being the nepo fuck baby you are, you just wholesale eat that shit up because he makes your oligarch family even more rich.

do you know about the voluntary export restraints from the 1980s?
the ones that did nothing except let our auto executives breathe easy while they still refused to do shit to solve the problem that caused the need for it in the first place?
of course you don't.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voluntary_export_restraint#1981_Automobile_VER
>This policy increased the US car sales and total revenue of the American car manufacturers by about $10 billion. The increase in earnings of the American companies was mainly paid for by the consumers in the US. By the imposition of this policy, they suffered the loss of around $13 billion (measured in 1983 dollars). The overall net welfare effect on the US economy was that the social welfare losses totalled $3 billion.

and don't give me this "safety" bullshit. you think honda, subaru, and toyota don't know how to build safe cars under 3,000 pounds?
japan's kei car safety ratings have improved for decades without needing to bolt on 600 pounds of "infotainment" and airbags for the american third chin.
DO YOU REALLY FUCKING THINK, completely in proportion here, that there are more deaths and injuries due to japanese cars as compared to american cars?

american cars have never sold in japan not because "japan bad", but because OUR CARS FUCKING SUCK, and no garbage quid pro quo trade deal is going to change that.

"excited for the future" my fucking left nut.
you're too rich, too soft, and too insulated to realize how pathetic this all looks to everyone outside your ivory tower and gated community.
or, you just don't give a fuck because your stupid family gets even more rich regardless, which brings me back to my first point:
fuck you.

You are a really difficult person to talk with because of your hateful personal attacks many of which are untrue. Anyways, the barriers to entry in Japan have always been high (its still one of the most closed up markets to foreigners) and you are correct when you say much of that is cultural preferences which is why I originally said I doubt they will sell well in my first post and also to a degree infrastructurally. It is also regulatory and I think anything we can do to open and make it easier for American car companies to sell our cars over there should be explored. Japan is also increasing rice imports by 75% among other things like a massive 550 billion dollar investment in US industries and buying more of our weapon systems which is good for US companies.

People who want them will get them and I saw some Jeep enthusiasts over there and even big Chevy trucks now and then outside of the city. The little Kei cars were neat and I wish we had them over here actually, though I would never buy one. They seem a bit underpowered to me but great for their country and they pay less taxes on them. I looked at a few old NSX's when I was there originally but I didn't pursue them.

In any case, anything our government can do to help open up the Japanese market to any of our products is worth considering whether it be reducing regulatory barriers to entry or cultural. I'd like to see our companies try again over there and who knows? Maybe they will be savvy enough to perpetrate that really difficult market. Hope you have a nice Sunday! ( ^◡^)

I hope Liru can get outside their ego and see the genius of this beautiful post. And by the way it's not that we hate that you reveal details about your life, but that it just makes great dynamic comedic content. Solidly and reliably entertaining with someone genuinely retarded like you. Honestly, I'm all for safe and warm online spaces, but I can't deny that this is just beautiful. As long as nobody is doxed, let's all just have fun, you know what I mean? Don't get offended Liru. You really are retarded and people deserve to have fun with it. I wish the mods were a bit more intelligent, but at least so far they seem to be doing this for the right reasons. Based on the fundamentals. Nobody has been doxed as far as I know. And we can continue interacting with one another. The platform is still running. Even if we get banned and some good posts deleted. We are still communicating, interacting. And this is where the magic happens. If you get upset, that makes me happy. You should, you stupid fuck.

Ahh.. thank you to you both, this really made my day /\

>waahh you're so mean and it's hard to talk to you when you're right
you keep trying to soften the issue like this is some kind of casual hobbyist debate over brunch.
but you're not "just sharing an opinion" are you?
no, you VOTED FOR and are DEFENDING a policy that's part of a long, failed pattern of trying to force our inferior industrial output onto a country that DOES NOT FUCKING WANT IT, under the false banner of "opening markets" and "fairness".
>the barriers to entry in Japan have always been high
no the fuck they haven't, you fucking liar, they were at 0% import tariffs.
meanwhile, we had a 25% tariff on ours BEFORE trump started his bullshit.
the only barrier was japan having its own safety and emission standards that WE COULDN'T PASS.
AND YOU WERE FUCKING THERE, YOU FUCKING LIAR!
HOW MANY EUROPEAN CARS DID YOU SEE?
WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE THERE, AND AMERICAN CARS AREN'T?
fuck you and your "heh i'm calm even when i'm wrong" demeanor bullshit.
>much of that is cultural--
because they make better cars. full stop.
>I saw Jeeps and Chevy trucks outside the city
and you can find a ferrari in rural alabama, what the fuck is your point?
are you trying to say your anecdotal evidence somehow refutes the fucking overwhelming statistics?
go ahead, you lying cunt. say it.
>It's worth helping our companies try again
what you're REALLY saying is it's worth bailing out the C-suite dipshits who failed in the first place, to give them another crack at a region that doesn't want nor need them.
and it's not like we haven't fucking tried before, is it?
you want to use artificial market interference to force products on people who would be better off without them.
truly a trump voter.
>Japan is investing $550B in U.S. industries
because they need us to fend off china, and trump is using our military as a protection racket.
you know who else does that? the fucking mafia.
it's funny how motherfuckers were acting like they didn't see that trump used a quid pro quo on zelensky to dig up dirt on biden when that's literally all his tariff bullshit is.
trump and his retarded voters like yourself have turned the GOP in the most blatantly obvious and open mafia on the planet.
he is committing extortion, and because your wealthy family is benefitting from it, you're clapping like a fucking monkey.
>I wish we had Kei cars here
like your rich ass would buy one.

the irony of this shit is that it's literally the same as DEI/affirmative action for wealthy americans to make more money, because you and your ilk damn sure aren't going to let too many pennies "trickle down" to the peasants.
again, fuck you and your fake-ass victim roleplaying bullshit.
