Hiya 7chan! (⌒∇⌒)/

Special full moon time! It's the Full Sturgeon Blue Supermoon! The first of four upcoming supermoons. The moon will become full tommorow August 19th at 2:26PM EST. Of course that means it will appear full tonight and tommorow and will be 6.2% larger and 12.8% brighter than the average full moon.

So you might be thinking why does a blue moon happen? Since the moons cycle is 29.5 days, and our average calendar month is 30 or 31 days, it is very rare to have two full moons in one single month. It does happen though. Three percent of full moons are blue moons. But... That isn't this. This one is a seasonal blue moon that contains four full moons instead of the usual three, and the blue moon is the third of the four full moons. So yeah, two definitions... Crazy! ¯\(°_o)/¯

So yeah, my life has been pretty bland the last month. The good news is I got my tickets back to Japan and Okinawa. I will be over there for another month from September 24th to October 24th. This time it's North of Tokyo up to Hokkaido and a short flight to Okinawa.

I hope either tonight or tommorow you have good weather for moongazing! Cya! <3

Okinawa looks both beautiful and stunning and tropical, but also like it's from another planet. Cool place, hope you get to chill out there and feel it.

Life cannot be bland as a human on earth in 2024 though, I don't know if this is some sort of trying to appear humble or you genuinely think so, but if you do - take a airwolfing look around... You can't seriously believe this. But I don't know anything I guess, so maybe don't listen to me either... I just happen to be constantly mesmerized by it all. You do you ofc Liru dear🦌

Have you been called a "Gaijin" and was it meant in a insulting way? I had a mate who studied ceramics there in the 90's and he would often get called a "Gaijin"in the street and mostly not in a good way, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I hope so. May go to some other islands. Maybe bland wasn't the right word. How about uneventful and nothing really new to chock up as progress through my life? Nothing bad or good really... just stagnant. I am not talking about me realizing alot is going on in politics and news, I follow all of that as an observer.

>>829470
Wildfire smoke was really bad in the last few years but now it's very clear. In fact, a big cool front is finally coming and will make everything nice for a few days so it will be nice to take advantage of that.

>>829471
I never heard anyone call me that but I did have a few cultural slipups when I was there in May. I hope to be a little better prepared this time. People looked at me and who I was with now and then and also when I was alone. I don't think their is a fascination with people from the west anymore really. I was/will be there during a huge tourist influx. Since I will be going to the north and much farther away from the Golden triangle, I think I read they may not be as forgiving and many smaller villages will be more like the old Japan. Okinawa has a military base so they see Americans all the time. Will see!

>>829472
I get happy, sad, bored etc. I've always focused on being uplifting and happy here since I was VERY young. My life isn't as exciting as it once was when I was jet-setting all over the place. And ya all know, tick tock tick tock... We are all getting older and hopefully wiser. ⏳

>>829475
Sorry, I never saw or heard of that.

Ahh, got it got it. Well, you shan't worry about it, exciting things are coming to you. Very exciting and marvelous. If it wasn't the natural order of things, even magical, I'd say "brace, brace, brace, brace, brace, brace" but as it is right now, it's not even worth saying it for it permeates so naturally into the very core of our being that we can ONLY be and exist ever prepared.

It's like warning somebody about an incoming impact, except that without knowing any better, the impact turned out to be of the sort that kind of wraps around itself and is kind of happening during, after and already before the aforementioned impact. So I guess all you can do is let go and enjoy it. You cannot prepare for this. The moment you were created as the spark of life that you are, you were already prepared. Bland? Uneventful? Stagnant? There's truth to those words.

So yeah no need to brace. Might as well just relax already. The impact turns out to be a little bit more than expected. So be it. At this point you can certainly not think about whether it's a good thing or not. The only way you're going to get out of this alive is if you align with it, feel it, not shut it off or out in any way lest ye be crippled and distorted by such actions. It's already here and it's coming for your soul. Don't brace. You ARE braced.

I guess it's also amazing that if you remember me (and how immature I was back then) that you are still here as well! (☉౪ ⊙)

I don't even remember the exact time it started but it was quite awhile after the closet furry board closed. I didn't really plan to do it, but I guess I liked it and stuck with it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm glad I can be a little different and let people know about the moon and other celestial events.

Don't forget, the supernova T Coronae Borealis, or T CrB is coming up starting now and into September (we think) and will appear 1,500 times brighter than usual, but it won't be as bright and mesmerizing of a phenomenon as the event in 1054. I was sent this email from my telescope manufacturer.

I think I'll make something with beef tonight. Maybe Philly cheesesteak stuffed peppers! Unfreeze and thin cut/shave a ribeye as thin as you can. Add oil or butter to your pan and add onions, minced garlic and a little salt and red pepper flakes to taste. Let them cook on medium high for a minute or two. Then put your shaved ribeye on and sear them quick only for a minute a side or so. Cut two red, green or yellow bell peppers crosswise. I prefer doing it crosswise because it will be easier to cut into with two smaller sized peppers (and get two different color peppers) but if you want to make a big tall one go ahead! ✌(ツ)

Next, grease a pan or baking sheet and fill your peppers. Provolone cheese in the middle AND top. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 and use the broiler at the end for a minute or two if you like the lightly burnt cheese topping (like I do) Now you got four half stuffed peppers for you and your bestie! Yum! (≧ڡ≦*)
