Actually, the percentage of a girl getting pregnant after sex is very low, even when they had sex during their most vulnerable time. If Gwen uses a lucky charm, then getting pregnant should be the 'lucky event', don't you think?

Luck is dependent on the outcome you want. Even if it wasn't with continuous sex the probability sort of changes if you think of it as "how many times can they continuesly have sex without getting pregnant?" This probability becomes exponentionaly lower as you increase the number of times you plan on having sex. Assuming they fuck all the time, she starts ovulating at 12 and she hits menopause around 51 this would give us 468 chances to get pregnant. So while everytime they fuck the chance is the same, say 99/100 times they don't have to grab a coat hanger, the chance that they will continue that streek is (99/100)^468 which is like 9/1000. So it would still be luckier to not get pregnant after banging that much.
